 PSGD Dance Program m KEEP DANCING THIS SUMMER! (Please click on the link below to view schedule) FALL 2010 DANCE SCHEDULE! Puget Sound Gymnastics & Dance offers a wide variety of dance instruction for children ages 3-13. Our teachers are highly trained and offer quality instruction while sharing the love of their are with each student. Our dance program equips the students with the fundamentals of movement, posture, strength, coordination, flexibility, balance and rhythm in a fun & safe learning environment.  2010 Dance Recital is June 12, 4:30pm at Mt Si High School Advanced Tickets $5 ($10 at the door); Children under 8 years are FREE! Full Dress Rehearsal: June 4th, 4:00-9:00pm DANCE TEAM TRYOUTS JUNE 17, 7:00-9:00 @ PSGD Competitive Dance Program will be auditioning boys & girls, 5-11 yr age group & 12 yrs & Up age group for Ballet, Tap, Jazz and Lyrical. Pre-registration is not required! Class Descriptions: Kindergarten Readiness Program - Gymnastics & Dance Combo (Boys & Girls 31/2-Kindergarten): This unique 2 hour program will be offered in the Fall 2007. Children will receive instruction in both gymnastics and dance, with special emphasis on the physical skills associated with a successful school experience.  Pre-Ballet - Creative Movement for girls 3-4 years. This class explores movement concepts, developing dance skills, strengthening the body, brain and interacting with others. Focus is on fun and the joy of moving in a supportive and positive learning environment! Pink leotard (with or without skirt), pink tights and pink ballet shoes required. Ballet - Ballet is the foundation for all styles of dance, with an emphasis on proper technique, poise and balance. Ballet develops awareness of posture and body line while toning and strengthing muscles. Classes are divided into age groups and skill. Black leotard (with or without skirt), pink tights and pink ballet shoes required. Ballet/Tap Combo - This class offers ballet for one half of class and tap the other half. Black leotard (with or without skirt), pink tights, pink ballet shoes & black tap shoes required. Tap - This is a wonderful step dance that involves body movements coupled with rhythmic foot taps. Students wear black leotard (with or without skirt), pink tights and black tap shoes.  Jazz & HipHop - The teacher offers diversified dance styles, movements and steps to contemporary music. The kids have a blast learning how to dance! We offer a boys and a girls Hip Hop class. Boys wear black shorts or sweats, black t-shirt or tank, black jazz shoes or bare feet . Girls wear black leotard, t-shirt, tank top, black leggings, capris or shorts, black jazz shoes or bare feet. 
Lyrical/Contemporary - Lyrical is a beautiful, expressive form of dance. This class combines ballet, jazz and modern, creating a fluid and emotional connection to the music. 
Musical Theater - Calling all creative kids who love drama! This class has three disciplines: dancing, acting and singing! Kids will learn the art of self-expression through song and dance. Irish Dance - Traditional Irish Step Dancing is a dance that employs rigorous footwork and limited arm movement. We offer Beginner, Advanced and Competitivie Irish Dancing. Black leotard, t-shirt or tank top, black capris or shorts, white socks, black Irish dancing soft shoes or black ballet shoes.   PSGD Dance Recital 2009  | |
